Conventional rangefinders measure the distance to the target, a number of limited use to a golfer who will not hit it that far. The Omniscient Rangefinder instead reports the distance you will actually achieve, having accounted for your swing, your mood, the lie, and your history with the club now in your hand.

The reading is frequently lower than the distance to the pin. This is not a fault. It is the first honest number your equipment has ever given you.

The Bureau of Measured Outcomes compared 4,000 predicted distances against subsequent results and found the rangefinder accurate to within two metres, and considerably more accurate than the golfers it was measuring.
